What is Ozone therapy and how does it work?

Improving Circulation

Ozone therapy is designed to boost blood flow and enhance oxygenation throughout the body.

Reducing inflammation

Targets bodily inflammation, aiding in conditions like arthritis and allergies through its calming effects.

Boosting the immune system

Supports immune health, fostering a more resilient response against infections and diseases.

Reducing pain

Some people claim that ozone therapy can help to reduce pain and improve their overall quality of life.

Killing bacteria and viruses

Utilised for its potential to neutralise certain bacteria and viruses, offering a novel approach to infection treatment.

Ozone therapy is an alternative health therapy that involves the use of ozone, a gas made up of three atoms of oxygen. It is believed to have a number of therapeutic effects, including:

How does it work?

We would first meet to discuss what you are trying to achieve and how I can help. In this consultation session, I will show you the pods and walk you through how they work and what sessions I would recommend for your requirements.

I have two specialised ozone devices that I call Ozone pods that create an ozone sauna that you sit in while the ozone gas is circulated. Ozone, a unique form of oxygen containing three oxygen atoms (O3), naturally occurs in the Earth's atmosphere. This distinct molecule, differs from the regular oxygen we breathe, which has only two atoms (O2).

Ozone is created when oxygen molecules (O2) split into single atoms and recombine as O3, a process that can occur naturally through UV light or atmospheric electrical discharges, such as lightning. This remarkable transformation can also be replicated artificially in ozone generators, making ozone a compelling element in therapeutic applications like ozone therapy.

The amount of time will vary depending on what you are trying to achieve. It is typically 30 minutes spent in the pod but you should allow for 1 hour for the whole session.

During an ozone sauna session, you may experience a range of immediate effects, including increased perspiration and improved circulation.

As with any medical treatment, it is important to consult with a healthcare professional before undergoing ozone therapy.

Frequently asked questions

Do ozone pods/saunas involve being submerged?

No, ozone saunas do not involve being submerged in liquid. Ozone saunas use ozone gas, which is introduced into a sauna pod, and the client sits inside the pod while the ozone gas is circulated. You are not immersed in liquid during the treatment and your head is never inside the pod.

Is ozone therapy safe?

Ozone saunas are generally considered to be safe when administered by a trained healthcare professional. However, as with any medical treatment, there may be some risks or side effects involved. It's a good idea to consult with a healthcare professional before trying an ozone sauna to get a professional opinion and make an informed decision about whether it's right for you. Remember to approach ozone saunas with caution and prioritise your health and safety.

Is ozone therapy covered by insurance?

Ozone therapy is generally not covered by insurance as it is considered an experimental or alternative treatment. It is important to check with your insurance provider to determine what is covered.

How is ozone therapy administered?

At Ozone Life we use specialised pods to create an ozone sauna. The Ozone gas circulates around your body.
